POE (Patchouli) – 100% Natural Moisturizing Bar Soap – MADE WITH NATTY BOH!
YES, beer soap! NO - it doesn't smell like beer! This 100% natural soap is handmade with love like Grandma used to make it - with all natural, skin quenching oils, old fashioned lye, and pure essential oils- but we substitute BALTIMORE'S FAVORITE BEER - NATTY BOH for the distilled water. I think Grampa would approve!
All of the Natty Boh soaps are named after Baltimore icons. This one was inspired by Edgar Allen Poe and his exploits in our fair city. The "POE" bar has the wonderfully bohemian spicy scent of Patchouli paired up with a touch of the sweet aroma of Absinthe - Poe's mind-altering beverage of choice! The combination is reminiscent of a lazy summer day, spent lounging in a hammock - with Natty Boh in hand of course!
This particular scent mixture is also great at removing "fishy and crabby" scents off of hands. We don't skimp on the essential oils and the bars are made right here in the Land of Pleasant Living.
The formula for this bar includes ultra moisturizing shea and cocoa butters and skin taming coconut oil to soften and soothe even the toughest skin. AND UNLIKE MOST HOMEMADE SOAPS, THIS HAS A FANTASTIC LATHER!
Unlike commercially made soaps, these soaps have NO PRESERVATIVES, NO HARDENERS, NO PARABENS, NO SYNTHETIC FRAGRANCES, NO SULFATES AND NO PHTHALATES
This recipe retains the natural glycerine produced during the soap making process which is a natural humectant, helping your skin hold on to moisture (commercial soap companies tend to remove the glycerine and sell it to lotion manufacturers. You need to buy the lotions to combat the dryness of your skin, caused by the soaps!).
All soaps cure for over 30 days in order to create a harder bar with more lather without needing the chemicals typically used to achieve the same results. Because there are no preservatives, bars should be used within one year. Because there are no chemical hardeners, bars last longer if placed on a draining soap dish to avoid continual contact with water.
Each weighs between 4 and 4.5 ounces and is hand cut, so please expect some variation. (some are even bigger). We love our Natty Boh, but please don't eat the soap!
